Welcome to Itihaas to History!

A world of mystery and magic awaits you as I take you on a journey through time. History has been written about, spoken of and narrated to us so often to us throughout our lives that it has managed to weave itself into the small threads of our journey.

With a passion for history, I started this blog as an attempt to combine the Western and Indian cultures, by presenting stories that are unheard of. From the robbery of the Mona Lisa, to the stories of exceptional women such as Noor Inayat Khan, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, Durga Devi Vohra and Jahanara Begum, a world of stories so enthralling and stilling await you on this page. Explore the world of Itihaas to History to delve into a long gone, and often forgotten era, as I take you through the tales of the past.

History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.

Maya Angelou.

About the Author

Hi! I’m a passionate 20-year-old history lover, who started this blog as a part of an assignment. As a kid, I loved listening to the stories my grandmother would tell me of the kings and queens who lived on this land a few hundred years ago… Since then, my mind has latched itself onto these beautiful, yet sometimes tragic stories of people who existed so long ago!

And so, consider this a humble attempt, from my end, at giving my readers a new lens to look at history from. I hope that my articles give you an adrenaline rush and at the same time make you wonder what actually happened all those years back…

I publish one article every month usually, and few short stories on Instagram as well! So follow this blog to receive a notification every time a new post goes live, and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram at @itihaastohistory as well! 🙂
