The late 16th and early 17th century clearly showed the development of British and French control in India. During this time, the roles were slightly reversed with the Indians in much more control than the British. On one such day in the year 1756, a horrendous event took place, which is now infamously known as the Black Hole Horror of Calcutta. As the Second World War ended in 1945, all the secret missions deployed by the Allied and Axis powers were exposed. One such unique organization that deployed several such missions
was the British-set up – Special Operations Executive (SOE). Very few were aware about the existence of this organization and even fewer knew about the agents that were part of the missions. Noor Inayat Khan, was one such lady who was a part of one of the missions deployed by the SOE. THE INFLUENZA PANDEMIC OF 1918 – The Spanish Flu

102-years-ago, a pandemic, one of the worst, spread across the globe. This was the Spanish Flu of 1918. It lasted for a period of 2 years, up until 1920, and during that time, it brought the entire world to standstill. Local shops shut down, there were empty streets and markets and the hospitals were severally overcrowded.
History has repeated itself yet again, and now in the year 2020, the world has come to a halt once again. The COVID-19 has forced people to hit a pause button in their lives.
But what was this Flu that took place in 1918? Even before World War 1 ended, the Spanish Flu shook the whole world. Yet, it remains unknown.

Circa: 1657 AD. Location: The throne of the mighty Mughal Empire.
A War breaks out between four brothers. The result of the War? Emperor Aurungzeb ascends the throne as the sixth ruler of the Mughal Empire. But, before this happened, there was another Mughal Prince, probably much more deserving of the throne, who was executed in a disturbing manner. Who was this Prince?
Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Emperor Shah Jahan, was supposed to be the heir-apparent to throne. A scholar and a liberal Muslim who preached religious unity, deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest of his times.

Durga Devi Vohra – The Forgotten Revolutionary

Location: Lahore Railway Station, British India.
A man is seen boarding a train with his wife and son, along with their servant trudging along behind. Nothing seems out of the picture, does it? Not if you knew the back story. This ‘couple’ was actually the freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Durgawati Devi and her son, along with Rajguru. Never heard the name Durgawati Devi before, have you?
